Hi, I'm Alma Santiago

Alma Santiago, a U.S. Army veteran and writer, is the founder of Unity House Press, an independent publishing company that focuses on meaningful storytelling. 


Born in Puerto Rico and raised in Massachusetts, Alma’s work beautifully blends heart, healing, and imagination. Her stories draw inspiration from family, resilience, and the belief that words possess the power to unite people. 


When she isn’t writing, Alma enjoys spending time with her family, reflecting through poetry, and further developing Unity House Press as a nurturing home for meaningful stories.

My Story

Every story I write begins with a belief that words can comfort, inspire, and bring people together. Unity House Press was born from my love of storytelling and my desire to create books that help readers of every age feel seen, encouraged, and connected.

Service Before Stories

Before becoming an author, I proudly served in the United States Army, including two deployments to Iraq. My military experience shaped who I am, teaching resilience, leadership, and the importance of community. Those lessons continue to influence every story I write today.

Why I Write

I believe every person carries a story worth telling. Whether I'm writing a bedtime adventure, a poem, or a guided journal, my goal is always the same—to create books that leave readers with hope, encouragement, and the courage to keep writing the next chapter of their own lives.
